This month of October, people all over the country are celebrating 25 years of awareness, education, and empowerment. Not just women – men, businesses, hotels, restaurants, and stores are all finding ways to participate in National Breast Cancer Awareness month.
South Florida is no exception, there are a number of ways you can support the cause and if you are a Fort Lauderdale fashionista, Glam-A-Thon™ may be just the week of events for you. You can join thousands in the strut to raise money for the fight against cancer, their mission, to Kiss Breast Cancer Goodbye® .
Research shows breast cancer is the second most common cancer in women today with the chance of it developing being 1 in 8. Nearly 40,000 women die annually from breast cancer, however, there are over 2.5 million breast cancer survivors in the United States alone. So Ladies, break out those stilettos and round up your fabulous friends…
Glam-A-Thon™ starts with the second annual Lipstick Lounge which will include two hours of cocktails, cosmetics, confections, and a fashion show at the W Hotel Fort Lauderdale on Oct. 7, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Bliss Spa will be there too, providing complimentary treatments and samples to guests while, makeup artists will do makeovers.
